GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The stage which runs from Tavertet to the small village of l’Esquirol is extraordinarily beautiful. The path goes along the rocky crags of Collsacabra offering spectacular views over the massif of Montseny and above all over Guilleries. On still, mild days, or after a strong wind, you can see the sea from the Pla Boixer look out point. Birds of prey are common in the zone, and it is also possible to find cows grazing in the meadows. Once you are over the rocky crag, you head up through European beeches until the village of Cantonigròs, well-known for its home-made products. The downhill stretch to l’Esquirol follows the course of the Gorga (gorge), winding in places, and you will be able to visit the fabulous waterfall of La Foradada.
